But why would he kill a man he didn't know? Start with the names list. Explain that the witness is a member of the group. Next, show the profile of the dead man. The witness was afraid that a cop was now involved.

OK - but is the phone really the witnesses'? Here's the dumb part. You WIPED OFF THE PRINTS on an object involved in a murder? Who in the world would do that?? And can't they just check the sales records for the phone sale? Surely someone signed up for the service.

What you finally have to do is give the judge your card, with your cell number on the back. It turns out the witness has YOUR phone because he was trying to steal his back when he bashed you on the head. Case closed!
