When you begin in Animal Crossing, you choose the basics as you take a "taxi ride". You choose your name, the name of your town, and your gender. You also make sure the clock settings are correct. Make sure you set these things the way you wish - it's going to affect your entire world!

If you need to change the clock offset after this initial setting, then click on the phone in your bedroom *before* you wake up on any future load. This will let you change the entry.
