Baldur's Gate Chapter 5: Baldur's Gate
Just before the gate is a little house to the north with Wenric. Kill his zombies for him for 800xp and 150g.
When you get through the gate, Scar asked if you were responsible for the Naskel Mines stuff. Admit to it, and you'll get to investigate the 7 Suns. Jhasso is the head - break int the 7 Suns and find out what is wrong. You need to report at the Flaming Fist compound for 2000gp. This is west of the 7 Suns complex. Quale is here too, he'd like to join. Ignore him.
You run into Elminster the ever-present, and Niklos who wants you to talk to his boss. I'd ignore Niklos completely - if you go in and begin to talk to the Thieves Guild, you easily get to a point where you don't have an option to refuse to steal things for them.
Note!! If you meet Lothandar, you have 10 days to finish the quest before you die. Watch the clock.
Head SW. Dabron, brother of Aldeth, is here. Kill him off. Now go into the Seven Suns building and learn about their shapeshifting. Report back to Scar about this. For some reason even when you destroy all shapeshifters (don't forget the one in the basement torturing Jhasso), sometimes he says you've failed in your quest. Ah well. They're a pretty nasty bunch, be prepared when you go up to get them. You get 2000xp, 4000g and +2 rep.
You now have to clear out the sewers. You get 300g first, then go down and meet Schlumpsha the Sewer King. Just do who-what-thank you and he leaves. You have to kill Ratchild, and then Breilbarer. You find all sorts of strange creatures down here. When you find and kill the ogre, report back to Skar and you'll get 3000xp and 3000g.
OK, on to infiltrating the Iron Throne ... fight your way through and get Sarevok's notes from the back room. You get 2000g and a book that will (finally!!) let you back into Candlekeep. This immediately ends this Chapter, so be sure you're ready at this point.
