Baldur's Gate Chapter 5: Baldur's Gate sidequests
There are various random side quests while you're in the city in this chapter. You meet Lady Hannah, who says Ragefest is holding a slave nymph against her will. Find Ragefest and go through dare you - contradiction - does not cage - free her. He'll free her, and you'll get 2000xp and a lock of her hair.
You'll meet Varci Roaringhorn to the middle west, who wants you to go to Tremain Belde'ar. His son's body is being held by the water queen. Since you helped Tenya, she'll give you the body of hte son and resurrect him. You'll get 5000xp and 2000gp for that.
Lothander is Marek's partner. If you talk to him, you now have to release Lothander from his Geas or die in 10 days. Go to the tent. You'll learn you have to visit High Priestess Jalantha Mistmyr of Umberlee (amongst other interesting things). Go to the Water Queen's house and be humble. She wants the Book of Wysdom of Tymorens. You'll then go to the Lady's Hall, plead for the book, and they'll give it to you. Give the book to Jalantha. Now you can go back to the Blade & Stars for Lothar. He'll give you half (and 1500xp); Marek, in the Blushing Mermaid, gives you the other half but it's a fake - kill him for the real one.
Petrine, by the palace, will ask you to retrieve her cat's ring. She's right in front of the house. I avoided her. Seemed a bit strange.
Ghorak, diseased, by the warehouse, wants you to bring the skull of Kereph to Agnasia in the Lady's Hall. Find it behind the painting at 3 Old Kegs and do so. Agnasia says Kerept was preist of Tymora, for 1000xp and +1 Rep.
One house has a Greater Basilisk which you kill for 7000xp. You kill chickens in another for 2000xp and +1 rep.
