This level is where you first meet the cop DC Carter. Note that in DC Carter's set of missions, you parallel everything you just did as Hammond and end up at this exact same scene, just from Carter's point of view.

Anyway, back to Hammond. You get out with Yasmin, fighting your way out. You go racing to the laser beam place. Get through the laser beams by going around each one, and at the end you see them race away with your kid.
