You get a cut scene to start with, where you see Ned's female friend and meet the Preacher. You know that Ned and his friend want something that's in the gun's safe. You also know that the Preacher wants it as well. The Preacher kills the woman, and then calls out for a full out assault on the boat.

It's time for action. Kill everyone attacking the ship. Try to stay safe, but there's health lying around if you need it. When the lower area is clear and you've gotten the wheel moving, go up onto the upper level. You'll see Ned; he'll say they're coming over the railing and to use quickdraw.

Kill a few more, and go over with Ned. He gives you a token for a cathouse in Dodge City. He says to ask for Jenny. He admits that he ain't your father and pushes you off the boat. As you fall, you see he's surrounded by bad guys. It doesn't really matter - the ship blows up.

You see a scene of the bad preacher getting his ear cut off because item was now in the safe at the bottom of the ocean.
