Lego Harry Potter Walkthrough
Sparkly Red Items

The Sparkly Red Items you see all over the place are NOT able to be manipulated with any normal spells that you learn through your four years of schooling, nor from spells you buy extra at the shop.

Instead, these Sparkly Red Items are only affected by "dark magic". That is, you have to unlock a character like Snape or Tom Riddle and then go into that area either in free play or with a polyjuice potion. Once you have a dark magic character selected, you then use the "purple" spell on the Sparkly Red Item in order to activate it.
