The gun stores are marked on the map with a gun. They start out with a limited selection of items, but usually that's good because you want to be carrying the same weapon as your enemies. That way when they drop ammo, you can actually use it.

If you buy a gun a second time, you don't end up with 2 guns - you just get more ammo. Guns are always sold with 2 clips of ammo.

If you target the gun store owner, you can hold him up - but that's a pretty risky thing to do!
