Spore Walkthrough - Tribal Mode

Tribal mode can be REALLY confusing at first. Expect to take a few tries through this mode until you get the hang of it.

First, when you "decorate" your tribe - just as with previous levels - you are doing it once for all of them. It's not that you're decorating the chief, and then decorating warrior #1. You choose the outfit for your ENTIRE tribe and it affects them all.

However, when you build weapons and instruments, you DO choose which ONE object each tribe member holds. So let's say you want to have some spears, and also some flutes. You first have to click on your main tribe hut. You then have to build a spear hut, or a flute hut. Once you place a flute hut on the map, you have to click on a particular individual tribesman and have him WALK OVER to the flute hut to grab one. You'll see a little flute icon on that tribesman's icon on the right side.

The key here is not to turn all your people into musicians and then have the village burned down by the first enemy raiders. You want to have half musicians and half warriors. When you're able to manage multiple instruments, start dividing up your musicians by instrument so that you can meet the entertainment needs of any tribe you wish to charm.

If a "friendly tribe" sends over a gift basket, there will be an actual physical basket sitting by your food stores in your own home village. You have to have one of your tribesmen go over and click on it to gather that present.

Make sure you click on your main tribe hut to have babies whenever you can. You always want your tribe level at its maximum population. Make friends with other tribes (or kill them off) to raise that potential level.
