This seems challenging at first but it's pretty easy when you figure out the technique. Simply stand in front of a pillar. Wait until he smashes at you and then jump out of the way. He'll hit the pillar and be hurt.

When he hits them all he dies and you get the talisman.

Now you find the talisman machine has excess energy, and you get elemental rangs. He makes a flamerang - it start fires and melts ice!

Use the arrow buttons to cycle through your rangs.
