Quilting

April 1 2010 Quilting Newsletter

A busy week again, and a short week as well, because of Easter. It’s nice to have a four day weekend, and it looks like the weather is going to be fine and sunny, just what we need after all the rain we’ve had in March. My darling is going to spend some time in the garden this weekend, and I’ll be on standby, providing the tea and sympathy when he gets a sore back!!LOL

I’ve been continuing on with my quilt that I started in the Kerry Glen class a few weekends ago, and I’m having a ball. Not sure how it’s going to turn out, as I don’t really plan these things, they just sort of morph their way into existence. I’ve never been one to sit down and plan each step of a quilt. Perhaps I’d make better quilts if I did. But it’s just not in my personality to do that. I think I’d rather eat glass than have to pencil & paper plan my quilts. It sort of takes all of the fun out of it for me. I rather love surprises and my quilts often end up complete surprises!! I wonder how other quilters go about creating their quilts. I put this question on the forum for those of you who would like to share your ideas about creating – to plan or not to plan. Here’s the link to that question:

Last week I posted another article in my ongoing series of Quilting Terms Explained. I had some great feedback on the first article, so here’s a follow up for you. Here’s the link to that article:

So, my gifts for you this week aren’t all Easter themed because I appreciate that not all my readers celebrate Easter, but for those that do, here’s a couple for you:
