Hi All, hope all’s well at your place. I’m flat out this week. As you know I’m a very keen member of my State Guild (Queensland Quilters Inc) and like to help out where ever I can. For the past few years I’ve been helping with organising the labels for the quilts that are on show at our annual Quilt Show in October.

They need to be typed up, proof read, cut out and placed inside the heavy duty plastic containers that are hung with each individual quilt. For many years we had a catalogue printed, but it was becoming very expensive and difficult to print the right number of catalogues. We either ran out early, or had many left over after the show.

I’m sure anyone who is reading this and has been involved in putting a quilt show together will know what I mean.

So a few years ago the show committee decided to do away with the catalogue all together and have a little label on each quilt giving the quilt details, maker and statement by the maker. Also included is whether the quilt is for sale and at what price. So I’ve been word processing the labels for the past few days and this afternoon my quilting friend Anne is going to help me proof read them.

I’m really looking forward to our show this year. I haven’t seen any of the quilts, but the descriptions alone whet my appetite!!

Last week I posted an article that I’ve been working on for some time. I’ve written a Periodic Table for Quilting Elements. It took me ages to come up with the descriptions but there’s a few I couldn’t get. Call it writers block or something, but I’m going to open it up to my readers to suggest descriptions for the ones that I couldn’t fill. Here’s the article link: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art173243.asp .

If you have any suggestions for the descriptions that are missing, please pop over to the forum and add your contribution. Here’s the link to the forum article: http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/716840#Post716840
