Turkey Burger Chili with Beans Recipe
Greetings from the Land of OZ!
The nights are cooler here in Kansas with gorgeous golden days. Our trees are starting to change colors and stand in contrast to the bright fall sky. We weren't sure about having fall colors this year, since we had such a prolonged drought.
Do you have certain foods that you associate with cold weather? I love potato soup with a grilled ham salad sandwich. Egg drop soup filled with veggies and served with a tasty wrap sandwich is a real treat. Chili is another favorite cold weather food. Traditionally it's made with with ground beef or pork. Ground turkey is a good nutritional choice. It is lower in fat than the beef or pork. Using this recipe makes it taste more like a beef chili, rather than turkey.
How can you serve a nutritious meal? Dish up a bowl of turkey burger chili with beans. Pair it with a grilled cheese, hot dog, or cheese quesadilla. You can also roll a warm high fiber tortilla up with some chili, shredded cheese, and lettuce! Add some veggie sticks and fruit for a complete meal. Sandwich suppers don't get any better than this!
Would you be willing to try turkey chili? What would you serve it with? Do you like the classic veggie sticks? Let us know your opinions on the Sandwiches Forum.
