So far this month, I have 2 new articles for you:
Buddhist Sacred Places
Many places around the world are held sacred by one or more branches of Buddhism. Some are associated with events of the Buddha's life, and others are the site of historic Buddhist monasteries and art. Learn about several in this article.

Tantra of Sound Harmonizer CD
Jonathan and Andi Goldman, experts in sound healing, have incorporated Tibetan Overtone Chanting, sacred sounds, and electronic frequencies into a relaxing and powerful CD for balancing and aligning each of the chakras meditatively.

I've started threads on both topics in the forum, so please come share your own favorite sacred places and/or meditation music and sounds:

And as we move toward Thanksgiving here in the U.S., I thought I would finish with one of the many passages from a sutra on gratitude. I plan to post an article on gratitude in Buddhism, and specifically the teachings on repaying kind deeds with gratitude, in the coming weeks. This passage speaks to gratitude to our parents:
Mother & father,
compassionate to their family,
are called
Brahma,
first teachers,
those worthy of gifts
from their children.
So the wise should pay them
homage,
honor
with food & drink
clothing & bedding
anointing & bathing
& washing their feet.
Performing these services to their parents,
the wise
are praised right here
and after death
rejoice in heaven. — Itivuttaka, 106
In Peace,
