Cajun and Creole is not just Food ... it is Cuisine!  Bring out Grandma's China and silver, iron the linens, and light the candles!  Cajun and Creole, along with the foods of New Orleans make up one of the finer cuisines around!  There is nothing 'ordinary' about the delectable flavors of Louisiana - thick rich seafood stews, succulent  meats and poultry with elegant pan sauces, and fabulous desserts are all far from ordinary.  Ask anyone what their 5 favorite cuisines are.  More often than not, Cajun/Creole food will be high on everyone's list.

Need a few menu ideas for small, romantic dinners?  Look no further.  New Orleans boasts some of the finest restaurants in the world.  Delmonico's, Galatoires, and Commander's Palace are beautiful, elegant fine dining establishments that have been serving exquisitely prepared food for over 100 years!  It is from the menus of these and other fine restaurants of New Orleans that I found my inspiration for 2 of my favorite romantic dinner menus.  Choose from a classic Crawfish (or shrimp) Étouffée or Steak Diane.  Each recipe includes easy to find ingredients, are not difficult to prepare, and are as delectable to look at as they are to eat.

I hope that you enjoy my romantic New Orleans Style menus and recipes whether you serve them on Valentine's Day or for any other occasion.

With Warmest Regards,

Elegant Dinner - There is nothing more elegant than Steak Diane.  Several New Orleans fine dining establishments, including Delmonico's and the original Commander's Palace have served this melt in your mouth beef dish for years.  Originally prepared tableside, my version of Steak Diane with a Brandy Mushroom Sauce has all the elegant flavor without the added stress of the flaming presentation.  Begin the meal with spicy Shrimp Remoulade over field greens, fresh Green Beans with Almonds and Blue Cheese, Roasted New Red Potatoes, and finish with individual Warm Chocolate Cakes served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Romantic Valentine's Dinner - This elegant 4 course dinner begins with a scrumptious appetizer of Crab-stuffed Mushrooms and ends with Banana's Foster.  In between you'll dine on a rich and spicy Crawfish (or shrimp) Étouffée over rice and a sophisticated salad of fresh Field Greens with a Pomegranate Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Tips for Romantic Celebrations star- Creating a romantic dinner doesn’t have to be stressful. With a little advanced preparation anyone can turn a meal into a memorable celebration.
