Folklore and Mythology

October 12 2011 Folklore and Mythology Newsletter

Greetings to all folks near and far.

Halloween is coming up fast. Make sure your children know all the safety rules you set for them. Teach them to be aware of their surroundings and do not go out without an adult chaperon.

Did you know that Halloween celebrations came from the earliest of times when villagers dressed in scary costumes to keep the evil spirits away? I was the end of harvest and they felt that this time of year brought on a thin veil between the land of living and the spirit world.

Halloween can be a fun time for the whole family. Have your kids help you decorate with homemade crafts, Autumn flowers, scarecrows, pumpkins and squash arrangements. When it is time to carve the pumpkins, make sure you the kids use safety precautions to prevent accidents with carving tools. Take pictures of everyone with their Jack-o-Lantern to put in a Halloween scrapbook.

Till next time, may your home be filled with laughter and may it ring from floor to rafter.

Blessings to you and yours. May you walk in Peace and Harmony.
