And speaking of romance reading, I have a fair number of new romance reviews up in the last couple weeks. If you haven't stopped by the main site lately, you've been missing the July reviews. Like Raintree: Sanctuary, Cherry Adair, Featured Author, Mystic Guardian, Tag, You're It!, The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes, and High Noon. I'm currently working my way through Linda Howard and Jude Deveraux and starting to peek at the August releases, and there are a few in that stack I'm impatient to read as well.
For those of you who haven't yet heard, we've lost two romance authors this month. One of romance's pioneering authors, Kathleen Woodiwiss died earlier this month. And Ronda Thompson, most recently writing werewolves, passed away last week. What a terrible shame for their families and their fans. Good thoughts go out to all.
For the writers out there, word is that senior editor Brenda Chin of Harlequin is looking to start a new sub-series of Blaze. No details are yet available on the website, but I'm sure that will change quickly. The only thing I have heard is that is is going to be like the late (and sorely missed) Temptation line.
If you haven't stopped by the forum lately, you've missed two ARC giveaways this month. Not to mention some rather interesting discussions and polls. I hope you'll visit us there soon!
And, if you happen to be in the Lancaster, PA area tonight, Borders Express in Park City Mall is hosting a Grand Hallows Ball for the Harry Potter release. Stop by to see all of us. Might even be in costume.
Until next time, happy reading and writing!
