Travel is essential to the soul!

The 2012 Summer Olympics in London opened last Friday with what i thought was an incredible ceremony. The special effects were brilliant and the storyline was very moving.

I've been watching a number of events since then, including gymnastics, volley ball, cycling and swimming. Of course, I always pull for my own country, the United States, but I also cheer for many of the brave and talented athletes who participate. It's great to see the world come together mostly.

We've got a great new article:

Ice Tea
Sometimes called Southern Table Wine, sweet ice tea is a staple in the southeast US. Although it is available in many other parts of the country, in cooler climes ice tea is reserved for the height of summer while southerners drink it year round. Here's a little history.

In case you're in the mood for something a little stronger, we want to remind you about another article that might interest you, just in case you missed it:

Mint Juleps
No one has a definite answer to the origin of the Mint Julep. While bourbon is the usual choice for mint juleps today, several other types of alcohol have been used over the years. There is little doubt that it is a southern creation, probably dreamt up in the eighteenth century. Try one today.
