Poetry
Sleep

Sharon Lasitter

June shadblow,
brilliant green
against turquoise sky,

now summer wind
turns North
against it

sky goes gray
a shudder of twig,
sap grows chill.

Life wanes,
leaves ignite
a flare into sleep.
