Love and Live and Let It Be

James Nichols

In the sum of all this cosmic fuss
where I am but a speck of dust
I must insist on meaning and a purpose.

Otherwise I´m just existing,
on the sea of space I´m listing,
hoping depth and definition surface.

Gravity will thus confine me
but I will not let its force define me.
I only wish to leave a mark of grace and glory.

For life is given and received
and once discarded is not retrieved.
I´ll recycle among the stars and leave my story.

I have a simple philosophy:
love and live and let it be.
In time our star will flare and we will cease.

I still have faith in the human race
and I still desire to set the pace
until mankind revels or rests in peace.
