To Earth

Aneta Cruz

recreate me—
so that I can stretch
long and wide
and hold you in my arms

tight

and rotate and revolve with you
day and night,
swirling in the grandeur of Sunlight.

let me be the Goddess—
I’ll unslave you from your elliptical path,
and we’ll waltz through the constellations past
the Supernova

blast

and swim through its stardust,
the expanding space; absorb all that matter,
then without a trace, we’ll steal from the Milky Way.

I’ll turn up the volume—
the Cosmic Symphony,
resonating through the Universe in String Theory,
and when I learn the ultimate truth, we’ll fly back

Home.
