Do you believe in secure and lasting salvation? Do you believe that you don’t have to worry about where you will spend eternity? There are those who will tell me that there is no guarantee. They will say that there may be a day when a saved person commits a terrible sin and, as a result, loses the precious gift of eternal life.

The conversation may go like this:

I believe in Jesus Christ and that He died on the cross for my sins and was buried for three days. I believe that on the third day, he rose from the grave and is now in heaven at the right hand of God the Father, but if I mess up and sin, do I have to be afraid of losing my eternal home in heaven?

Everybody sins.

There was only one person who walked this earth and did not commit sin, Jesus Christ. That's why he was able to be the sacrifice for sin. Once you truly put your trust in Jesus, you are saved. You have eternal life.

Salvation is a free gift, by God's grace. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ.

There is one payment for sin, death. God sent his Son, Jesus, to take the punishment and be the payment. He opened the way to heaven for everyone who believes and trusts in him. He died once for all sin. It is through his sacrifice that God counts us worthy of salvation.

We can’t be good enough or strong enough to ensure our own salvation. We trust in Jesus. He is strong enough. We will mess up, but we will never undo his work on the cross.

  Paul was convinced that nothing could ever separate us from God’s love. Nothing in life or in death. Not the angles or demons. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus went to the cross while we were still sinners. He died for us while we were worthless to him. He isn't about to let us go now that we have believed and have become his children.

I believe that it is possible to never have salvation because of never trusting Jesus as savior, but once we admit our need for a Savior and trust his sacrifice, we are his.
