The 80th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24, 2008 was a night of many surprises. The Best Actress in a Lead Role went to the underdog, and the award for Best Documentary Short Film was awarded from military personnel overseas. Host Jon Steward made everyone laugh and it was a great night for Hollywood to get back to schedule after the ending of the writers strike.
