With the New Year fast approaching, now may be a good time to start planning for the dating resolutions that will help fill the coming year with better and brighter dating experiences. Much like with other kinds of resolutions, your new year dating resolutions should target aspects of your dating life that you would like to change or otherwise improve. Even though many resolutions rarely make it to February, the future success of your dating life depends on your ability to devote a truly consistent effort toward meeting your dating objectives for the New Year.
Consider the following suggestions as you develop your own New Year dating resolutions:
- Identify area(s) of concern - The first and most important part of making any kind of resolution is to identify precisely what you would like to change or improve. It might be only one specific thing or maybe several changes depending on your particular situation. Perhaps you want to increase the number of dates you will go on in the coming year or maybe you will strive to avoid dating certain types of people so that you put an end to negative patterns. Every situation is different so think about what changes or improvements would work best for you.
- Develop a plan of action - No resolution is complete without an implementation plan. Figure out how you will go about making the changes that you want to see. For instance, if your goal is to date more people in the coming year, decide if you will accomplish that by meeting potential dates online or by going out more often. Then decide what website to use or what places to frequent, etc.
- Put the plan into action and stick to it - Follow through on the plan you have made by putting it into action and then sticking with it. Nothing in your dating life will change if your ideas for improvement never make it off the paper.
