Two Informative Adoption Magazines

As you research websites, forums, and talk with other adoptive parents, there's yet another effective outlet for learning more about adoption. Adoption magazines are an excellent way to keep abreast of the latest information on all topics related to adoption. In addition, their websites often feature many extras free of charge. Here's a look at two popular adoption magazines I think you'll enjoy:

Adoption Today Magazine

Adoption Today features articles written by adoptive parents, adoptees, and professionals. The magazine does a fine job of covering topics for both domestic and international adoption.

The Adoption Today website features important resources on books, parenting, schools, race, bonding, attachment, and lists country by country links as well. In addition, you'll find at International Cookbook section, featuring recipes from: China, Russia, Korea, India, Vietnam, Ethiopia, United States, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Columbia, Poland, Cambodia, and the Philippines. This is a wonderful feature to offer families who often struggle to find recipes from their child's birth country.

Adoptive Families Magazine

The Adoptive Families magazine covers many aspects of domestic and international adoption. In addition to experts providing useful information, you'll also hear from adoptive families who can offer personal experience, guidance, and support.

The Adoptive Families website is quite impressive, to say the least. They have expanded their magazine into an online information database of adoption guides, events, news, directories, and links to over fifty different resources on adoption.

Adoptive Families also features a weekly e-newsletter that links to articles, recommendations, and surveys.

I will continue to feature adoption magazines and resources on the Adoption site. If you have a favorite magazine that covers adoption topics, please come by the Adoption forum and let us know!
