Nickelodeon Hotel

The Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando Florida is a child centered resort! While older children will love featured characters like Spongebob Squarepants and Fairly Oddparents, the preschool crowd is in for a treat, too. Dora and Diego are beloved friends to all Nick Jr. fans, and their presence is obvious at the Nickelodeon Hotel.

Begin your stay by requesting a Dora or Diego preschool themed room. While room types are not always able to be guaranteed, the resort is large and room styles are usually available when requested. While your family suite does include amenities like a television and playstation, outside is where you and your family will want to be. Starting with two swimming areas, this resort has nonstop water fun. The Lagoon Pool has tons of activities, from daily slime drops to seven slides and flumes. Preschoolers will want to spend hours at the special Nick Jr. Kids water play area, and slide down the water slides made especially for them. If the water isn't your child's thing, basketball hoop games and a mini golf course are perfect for young children and adults alike. The Oasis Pool, while smaller, offers a selection of preschool water play activities, as well as a pop jet and splash zone. The Lagoon pool hosts daily entertainment, game shows for kids of all ages, contests and of course, sliming! There are even "Dive In Movies" for the whole family to enjoy at night, while they are in the pool.

Arts and Crafts are geared for the preschool crowd, and The Nick Workshop offers a full day of craft activities for kids. Some are free, while others have a nominal supply fee of a few dollars. Preschool kiddos can just stop by with a parent to color a Dora or Diego picture, too.

The Mall is the spot where numerous family friendly activities can be found. There is a Kid's Spa, which is cute. It features hair wraps, braiding and tatoos, as well as manicures and pedicures. You may even find yourself in line for a Dora hair wrap! Another area in the mall that all kids love is the arcade. There are games for all aged children and adults, with an emphasis on games that appeal to preschoolers. The great thing about this arcade is that it is not difficult to win tickets and obtain prizes. Children are thrilled that they can get a Dora rubber ball or a Diego top for just a few tickets, or points. Also in The Mall is a theater for studio shows. This venue offers nightly shows for families, ranging from trivia to competitions for families. This area also holds a crowd of folks who are celebrating a birthday at the daily birthday celebration. Kids and their family receive cupcakes, arcade gift cards and personal character meet and greets during this festive celebration. Also offered is an extra fee based celebration which you can register for, which includes a longer party with a show and music.

The 4-D theater on property offers six different short films for families. The selection does change, but often a dinosaur and nature themed flick are presented, along with films based on popular Nickelodeon characters. There is a fee to attend these films.

Dining is truly a one of a kind experience at the character breakfast buffet. You will need to book early on for a seat, but it will be well worth your while.
Besides a bountiful and child friendly buffet, all the characters visit and take photos with everyone. There is a character introduction and short show every hour, along with singing and birthday celebrations. The dinner buffet is not character based. However, the selection of dinner foods at the evening buffet is not only varied and child friendly, but it is also wonderful! Parents and children alike will be thrilled with the selection ranging from a gourmet salad bar to hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. There is a nightly carving station and a plentiful dessert selection. Parents and children will find the green and orange cupcakes hard to resist!

A food court with casual dining fare, a sundry, gift shop and adults only lounge are also in The Mall area. While waiting to check in there is a station of computers for preschoolers to play their favorite Nick Jr. games on to keep occupied. This resort is truly a family friendly vacation spot, and one that has enough activities to be a one stop weekend trip!
