Click To Enlarge Step 1. Open a new image window. This card will be printed on a quarter fold blank greeting card so the image for the front of the card will be 4 inches high and 5.25 inches wide. Click File > New to open a New Image dialog box and set the following values. Width: 5.25 inches Height: 4 inches Resolution: 200 pixels Raster background: checked Transparent Color: checked
Step 2. Set the pattern for the card. Turn on the Pattern Button on the Foreground Materials Box. (Figure 1) Now click on the Foreground Materials Box to open the Material dialog box. (Figure 2) Here you will choose the pattern for your card. In the example I used the Grain Paper 03 pattern but you can use any pattern that is subtle enough to allow the engraved effect to show. Set the following values in the Material dialog box. ![]() Figure 2. Material Dialog Box Pattern: Grain Paper 03 Angle: 45 Scale: 100 Step 3. Set the background color. Turn on the Color Button on the Background Materials Box (Figure 1) and then click on the box to open the Material dialog box again (Figure 2). Set the base color for the engraving to black (color number 000000). Now you will use the Flood Fill tool to fill the card with the pattern. Click on the Flood Fill icon and then set the following values in the Tool Options Palette. Match mode: RGB Value Tolerance: 20 Blend mode: Normal Opacity: 100 Now click on the card to fill it with the pattern. Next → JascR material used by permission of Jasc Software, Inc.
