Geribody Yoga - DVD Review

Have you ever felt your brain numbing in the middle of the afternoon? Do you know what it’s like to be physically drained and weary with hours to go before you can call it a day?

If you are a mom I suspect that you do. Sometimes a soothing tea or the reviving effects of a coffee and stolen cookie will do the trick. But if you want to feel refreshed and renewed from the core of your being try a “geribody yoga” dvd. Geri Halliwell may be more familiar to you as Ginger Spice, but don‘t let that slow you down.

I was really impressed. The low key, hatha yoga, presented through breathing exercises and gentle stretches, is an achievable solace for even the most tension knotted, or ignored body. Yet, it bequeaths a wonderful outcome for the supple-bodied soul as well.

Although the tape runs for 95 minutes, you will find yourself rewarded even when you can only indulge yourself for five. Which is why this type of tape near, or left inside the dvd player, is a “must have” for a busy mom. It is a low energy, low calorie, high reward diversion that requires no change in apparel, nor more space then necessary for you to flop on the floor. Under the headings of Warm up, Sun and Moon, Strength, Bliss, and Chill, you will find nothing more annoying than the occasional, one-too-many repetitions. Which can be easily averted. Hey, the dvd is a guide not a contract, right?

The Chill section involves lying on the floor! That’s it. Lie, listen to instructions, and observe your body and mind moving into a relaxed state.

What you just may find if you treat yourself to a few scattered moments of a “geribody yoga” dvd, is that you gain a bit of energy when you need it most. Perhaps, you may even break through the stress that’s been spinning its web around your mind and body throughout the day, and I feel confident that you will!

Hatha vidya (or Hatha yoga) was introduced in the 15th century in India. Hatha Yoga focuses on the purification of the physical as leading to the purification of the mind (ha) and vital energy (tha). Hatha Yoga is derived from the Hinayana (narrow path) and Mahayana (great path) , as well as the Sahajayana (spontaneous path) and Vajrayana (concerning matters of sexuality). Hatha Yoga is mainly practiced for mental, physical health, and vitality outside of India.
