Callaway Diablo Edge Golf Clubs

Lately I have been thinking of looking for new golf clubs. I had these Callaway clubs for some time and had put away the fairway woods all together. I was using my Callaway Hybrids as they were so much easier to use. As I was checking through Golfsmith.com found the reviews of the Callaway Diablo Edge Clubs and the reviews were excellent. Even though the reviews were all written by men it sounded good to me as they said they were easier to hit and getting more distance. I had to argue with myself at my age that I did not need new clubs but I was fascinated anyway. Then an email from my grandson who was wondering if I had some old clubs around as he and his wife were going to be taking some golf lessons and she was interested in taking up the game. Well that was all the incentive I needed I told him I would be bringing down some clubs as I was thinking of getting a new set.

Golfsmith was also having a great sale and I noted that it was the last day for this sale when I checked in on their web site along with free shipping. I proceeded to order a Callaway Diablo Edge Driver and the Callaway Diablo Edge irons with graphite shafts. This was what I needed as they had two hybrid clubs #3 and #4 the rest of the irons from #5 to pitching wedge. Since I live close to Austin the home of Golfsmith they came within two days. Now I have had a chance to try them out on the driving range and chipping area and have played two rounds with them so far. On the driving range I noticed that my shots were going straighter which is what I was looking for. The driver is still a large size but is light weight which I also wanted. I really enjoyed the hybrids but I also loved the ones I had before so I kept the #7 as that is one of my favorite clubs and love the way it feels. I also kept my sand wedge as that did not come with the set I ordered.

The information that was listed on the web site of Golfsmith says the driver was designed to give golfers a distance advantage every time the ball is teed up. Well that sounded pretty farfetched but positive plus it said it was engineered for improved distance and stability. The club head is made of Titanium in four-piece fused design with the most weight efficient ever designed. It also stated that it had a milled hyperbolic face whatever that means but it has a very interesting design on the face of the driver. It says this face has a greater thickness at the edges than in the center to allow the golf ball to spring off the face. It was enough for me and I am happy with this Diablo Edge Driver.

The Callaway Diablo Edge Hybrid Combo Set was the first set of irons I saw that included two Hybrid clubs as part of the set. That alone was a selling point for me. They make three hybrids the #3, #4 and #5, I did check and they do not make the hybrid #7 and that is why I kept the one I had. I may have to order the #5 as I don’t think I will be using the #5 iron but time will tell. These irons have graphic shafts and they do feel light and easy to swing. All I have to work on is slowing down my swing and not rush through the shot. But then I do many things fast and am known as the speed demon on the course. I am very pleased with my new Callaway Diablo Edge golf clubs and will keep you informed if I shoot my age, missed it by one stroke last month so we shall see what happens with these clubs.
