How to make scented beauty products using essential oil, fragrance oils and herbal teas?
Whether it’s skin care or bath and body a beautiful scent is a welcomed aroma. Some of the most basic products can be made from ingredients that you have right in own kitchen or bathroom.
For instance, you purchased 3 bags of sea salt. They were on sale 3 for $2 and you couldn’t resist. But then you put them away in your bathroom under the sink in the back right hand corner. You figured you’d use them a cup at a time adding a scent or two and you’d eventually use it up.
But it’s 6 months later, you’re under the sink looking for a candle and you come upon your salts. Shocked and amazed you pull them forward, even opening one of the bags and cast a handful in your running water.
Now, they are in your face again. This time you decide to make use of them and get creative. Of course you will first consider bath salts but what about a body scrub.
Let’s get started!
Relaxing Bath Salt
1 cup of sea salt
8 drops of Almond Oil
2 drops of Lavender Oil
8 drops of Sandalwood Oil
Mix all of your ingredients together and store them in a tightly sealed container. When you’re ready to use them add ¼ cup to your bath water.
Almond Salt Milk Bath
¼ cup of Almond Oil
½ cup of sea salt
¼ cup of Almond Milk
Mix all of the ingredients and pour into your bathtub
Body Butter Scrub
½ cup of shea butter
2 tablespoons of sea salt
2 tablespoons of turbinado sugar
¼ teaspoon of jojoba wax beads
½ teaspoon of jojoba oil
Mix all of the ingredients together and store in a tightly sealed container. This blend will melt in a heated environment. Store in a cool dry place or refrigerate. This recipe is a great skin moisturizer and gentle exfoliator. If you stand in your bathtub and softly massage the scrub all over, your body you will feel your skin transitioning into a softness that’s smooth as a baby’s bottom. Rinse with warm water and pat yourself dry.
These are just a few ways that you can use those sea salts that you found a great deal on. Remember, you can always make scented bath salts and give them away as gifts.
