The Feng Shui Wood Element is one of the Five Elements of Feng Shui, and represents growth, expansion, and vitality in your life. Each of the Feng Shui Elements has a characteristic shape and color, and each activates different attributes for your life. The colors of the Wood Element are green and teal, like tree leaves, and the shape of the Wood Element is rectangular, somewhat like a tall, straight tree trunk. Wood Element objects are composed of natural wood, like wood furniture and hardwood floors, as well as plants and flowers. Add the Wood Element to your home or office dιcor whenever you want to move forward.
The best way to add Wood into your home is to paint a wall or walls in shades of the color green, display living plants and flowers, use plant-based fabrics like cotton and linen, incorporate floral designs in your art and upholstery, and add columnar and rectangular shapes. Green is the color associated with nature, so using the Wood Element is one way you can bring the outside into your home, especially in the Family and Wealth bagua areas of your home.
At work, green is an especially good color for the office of a person in the IT or high tech fields. If you want to find a new job, decorate your workspace with green objects. If your creativity is blocked, place a bushy green plant with rounded leaves on your desk to get your creative juices flowing. If you are an author struggling with writer's block, surround yourself with objects in the color green for inspiration and to get you unstuck.
One way to green up your home is to replace your current art with images that show growing things, like a beautiful meadow of spring tulips or daffodils. If you need to feel energized against the cold, dark winter day, wear blues and greens, plant-based fibers, or floral patterns. To encourage a happy and long marriage, decorate with the colors green and purple. To encourage family harmony, add green to the room where your family gathers.
