Collision of Lies Review

Deep into the Atlantic Ocean, an unknown man on a ship sent an electronic submission via an orbiting communications satellite. Moments later he was murdered and his body thrown overboard as a result of his actions. Meanwhile, in Austria, Georg Forester was celebrating his victory in an important election as the political party he founded was rising to national importance.

Later that night near Garmisch in the German State of Bavaria, a German detective took in the scene of a horrific traffic accident. The victim? Georg Forester.

Several days later, a high level member of the Nationalist Defense Front Party founded by Forester declared he was murdered by the Israeli Mossad and the politico had proof. Because Kommissar Franz Waldbaer happened upon the accident and it occurred in Germany, he was assigned the case and directed to find out whether it was murder or not.

However, Frau Sabine Reiner an Austrian police official insisted she was to investigate the death as Forester was Austrian. During the investigation Waldbaer decided he needed the help of the Central Intelligence Agency. Robert Hirter and a team of CIA operational specialists joined the search for the truth.

What follows is a tale of international intrigue, murder and terrorism at the highest level in more than one government as officials bicker and fight for control of the investigation and terrorists continue their plot to successfully achieve their objective in a tale that ranges from the North Atlantic, to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Written by John L. Le Beau, Collision of Lies was the follow-up to the bestselling thriller Collision of Evil. A former clandestine operations office in the Central Intelligence Agency for twenty-five years, Le Beau was uniquely positioned to offer powerful tales of international intrigue.

The author is adept at building tension and suspense, creating compelling characters and providing authentic scenes that play out among the mountain peaks, oceans and alleyways around the world. The pace is fast and if readers are not paying close attention, the storyline can easily slip past them.

Collision of Lies is a masterpiece of gripping suspense. Fans of international intrigue will love this novel. As the tension builds and the plot thickens, this must-read story takes on a life of its own. This is one top-notch tale that readers will not want to miss.
