April 1–7

Laugh at Work Week. To raise awareness about the benefits of laughing at work including improved productivity, teamwork, communication, stress relief, job satisfaction and employee retention.

April 4–10

April 11–17

April 4

Check Your Batteries Day. A day set aside for checking the batteries in your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. This could save your life!

April 5

National Workplace Napping Day. This is a day for employees to “lie down and be counted” in support of napping at the workplace. For more information: www.napping.com.

April 11

Easter Sunday. Celebration of the resurrection of Christ. Determined by the lunar calendar.

April 16

Self Day. A day devoted to bettering oneself mentally, physically and spiritually. Self Day originated after Self magazine found, through a national survey, that only 3 percent of women say taking care of themselves is a top priority. For more information: www.self.com.

Administrative Professionals Day. Acknowledgement of the contributions of administrative professionals and their vital roles in the world. For more information: www.iaap-hq.org.

April 30

National Arbor Day. A day to honor and plant trees. Observed the last Friday in April (although some states have different dates according to their best tree-planting times), which is generally a good planting time throughout the country. For more information: www.arborday.org.
