Easter Egg Card - Paint Shop Pro For Kids Series

In this project you will learn how to use the Geometric-Perspective Effect and the Text Tool in Paint Shop^TM Pro^R 8. We will create an Easter egg greeting card. First we will use the Geometric-Perspective Effect to reshape a circular image into an egg shaped image. Then we will use the Text Tool to add your own Easter greeting. After you have made your greeting card, we will save the image in a format that you can email to family and friends.

Step 1. Download the project image. Click on the link to download the image we will use for this project. When the image appears, RIGHT click on the circle, choose "Save Picture As" from the pop-up menu and save the image to your computer.

Step 2. Open the downloaded image into Paint Shop Pro. Go to the Menu bar and click File > Open to open the image into the workspace. As you can see it is a circle on a solid white background.

Step 3. Reshape the circle. We will use the Geometric-Perspective Effect to reshape the circle into an egg shape. Go to the Menu bar again and click Effects > Geometric Effects > Perspective-Vertical. The Perspective-Vertical dialog box will open. Set the following values in this dialog box.

Distortion: 45
Edge Mode: Color
Color in box: White (HTML color code is FFFFFF)

You will want to set the Color in this dialog box to the same background color in the image. First click on the small colored box just above the Help button. This will open another dialog box called the Color dialog box. In this Color dialog box you will see a group of small colored squares. Click on the small white square (lower right). Click Ok to close the Color dialog box. Now close the Perspective-Vertical dialog box. The circle should now be an egg shape.

Step 4. Flip the egg. The egg is upside down. Let's flip the image. Go to the Menu bar and click Image > Flip.
