Robert Oppenheimer nuclear physicist and creator of the atomic bomb was born in 1904.

Betty Page the former Playboy Playmate and iconic figure was born in 1923.

Charlotte Rae from TV’s “Diff’rent Strokes” and “The Facts of Life” was born in 1926.

Aaron Spelling the producer of such TV shows as “Charlie’s Angels”, “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Melrose Place” was born in 1923.

Ryan Stiles from TV’s “The Drew Carey Show” and “Who’s Line Is It Anyway” was born in 1959.

Ansel Adams the famed photographer passed away in 1984 at the age of 82.

Erma Bombeck the popular newspaper columnist/author passed away in 1996 at the age of 69.

Will Geer the actor best remembered for his role as Zeb “Grandpa” Walton on TV’s “The Waltons” passed away in 1978 at the age of 76.

Linda Lovelace adult film star and, later, an anti-porn advocate was killed in a car accident in 2002 at the age of 53.

Richard M. Nixon the 37th President of the United States passed away in 1994 at the age of 81.

Frederick Henry Royce one of the founders of the Rolls Royce automobile passed away in 1933 at the age of 70.

Pat Tillman the football player who left the NFL to serve with the United States Army in Afghanistan was killed in action in 2004 at the age of 27.
