Quiz- Are You a Workaholic?

Addictive preoccupation with work and work related activities is what Workaholics Anonymous strives to bring attention and understanding to. Being a workaholic is accepted and almost celebrated in many parts of the United States and the world. It has been called "the acceptable addiction," but it has real, harmful, and long-lasting effects on people, families, and communities.

At the bottom of this introductory article there will be a link to a quick ten-question quiz, featuring some of the questions that Workaholics Anonymous recommends asking yourself when wondering if your work habits may be a sign of a potentially unhealthy preoccupation with work. You can find more questions and literature about workaholism and recovery at Workaholics-Anonymous.org, when finished with the quiz.

Workaholics often hurt inside. Their feelings of guilt partnered with always needing to achieve to feel good about themselves creates a state of mini-crisis which keeps the person always under a self-created state of stress and pressure. They may project this onto others and blame others for their own emotions. They may withdraw from even the most supportive people in their life, preferring the control of work to the vulnerability of pure emotion.

Do yourself and your loved-ones a favor and take this quiz. If you have more indicators of potentially being a workaholic, please visit the links on the results page for help with your business and personal life. There is help and support out there, and you are wise enough to choose to accept it.
