I began working at the age of 12 and took over the company at the age of 16. I probably broke every child labor law made, but I received a priceless education in the process!
I graduated from the University of North Florida, one of the best accounting schools in the country. I learned more there than I thought my brain was capable of holding! I did not appreciate them then, but I am so very thankful I was privileged enough to attend there now.
During my second year of college I began working in a CPA firm to ensure I would enjoy the profession I was training for. In college I learned theory while learning practicality every day at work. Sometimes that became confusing, but in the end I graduated with the ability to apply all I had learned to help my clients become more than they thought they could be!
I spent 10 years working in different CPA firms, and learned something new from every client, boss and co-worker I ever met. I love to learn and teach!
I have created or helped to create numerous companies over the years but my proudest accomplishment comes from a part-time job with a non-profit entity I worked at for 2 years. I took the time to learn the processes of several employees that were related to my job. I was able to create new procedures that eliminated the need for my job! Not only did I eliminate the need for this company to pay me, but the procedures I created made the other employees more efficient at what they did. The salary that was once paid to me is now being used to make the world a better place!
