Generate A Job Offer With An Interview Follow Up

You might think that your work is completed after going to a job interview when in fact it is just starting to heat up. The action that you take after the interview will determine if you get a job offer or not as many interviewers will wait for follow up responses before filling the job.

It is up to you to keep the interaction flowing between you and the interviewer. You will do this by continuing contact with the interviewer through phone calls, e-mails and weekly snail mail letters in addition to your thank you message after the interview.

Make a follow up phone call. Let them know that you are still interested and ask about further information that they may need from you. If they are not available when you call then leave a voice mail message with the information in it for them along with your contact information.

You can remain fresh in your interviewers mind by letting them know that you believe that you are a good fit for the job and why in your weekly follow up snail mail letter. Express your continued interest in the job and summarize some of your strongest points that are related to the job.

If you want the job then ask for it. Know how to negotiate and be specific and persistent in letting them know that you are ready to consider their best offer. Have confidence in your abilities and be assertive in your negotiation because you are good at what you do.

Many interviewers will wait a few weeks before filling a job to see who follows up and who does not. Your professional manner is judged according to your follow up interaction and how you present yourself as well as how you are perceived by the interviewer.

You need to remember that an interview is not over until the job is filled. This allows you ample time to follow up after an interview and ask for the job. Keep the communication going between you and the interviewer until you are notified that the job is filled.
