A Frank Discussion About Alzheimer's

Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers are in the national eye because of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Since drugs are not effective for very long, patients and caregivers need to develop holistic and spiritual coping strategies. By reducing stress levels, agitation, depression and overall depletion caregivers take care of themselves and their patients are healthier and happier for longer time periods. Because patients can live with Alzheimer’s for over a decade, caregivers need to pursue a better daily life quality for their charges and for themselves.

In a short radio interview, I share my personal experiences and knowledge as a stress-management specialist and Alzheimer’s caregiver. Not only do I talk the talk, but I have walked the walk. I try to help the world see with Alzheimer’s eyes. I hope it will stimulate a realistic optimism and further research into treatment- emotionally and physically.
