Dialed Action Sports Team – BMX Stunts

The Dialed Action Sports Team is a group of professional BMX bike riders who are dedicated to providing positive role models and inspirational messages to youth through school assemblies. Their underlying assumption is that too many of the people to whom kids are most exposed – Hollywood celebrities, rock stars, mainstream professional athletes – provide scandals and images of drug use and dangerous lifestyles. DAST asks, “What chance to [kids] have if all they see is negative role models? What happens when they think these bad role models are ‘cool’?”

The Dialed Action Sports Team wants to provide positive role models who can show students what is possible by living a healthy lifestyle. To that end, DAST has developed their BMX School Assembly Programs to provide positive, powerful and motivational messages in a context that keeps kids on the edges of their seats through the biggest and craziest tricks in the sport.

The team builds their fun, non-preachy messages around three key words: recognize, refuse and react. They have developed four school assembly programs to deliver their messages: anti-bullying and picking the right friends; bicycle safety and wearing your helmet; drug awareness and healthy lifestyles; and responsible choices and goal setting. These assemblies can be further tailored to fit a particular school’s needs.

These bicycle daredevils offer two different BMX show types to choose from, each action-packed from start to finish. The launch ramp show involves gravity-defying bicycle stunt tricks performed using a 4 ½ foot tall ramp, including back flips, 360s, and supermans. During a flatland show the riders perform difficult tricks such as single-wheel spins on the ground only. The shows involve two to four professional BMX riders and a charismatic announcer.

Based out of State College, Pennsylvania, Dialed Action Sports Team works up and down the east coast of the United States and into the Midwest. According to their blog, they will also be performing 18 shows per week for a month in Dubai in January 2012. This team is dedicated to professionalism, respect and hard work, and boasts that over 70 percent of their clients request them to return to their events year after year. Information on booking them for a school assembly, videos of their shows, and more information can be found on their website: www.dialedactionsportsteam.com.
