Hare, the main character of the series, is a 10-year-old boy who lives in the jungle. His mother, Weda, became pregnant at the age of 14, and left her rich life to raise her son in the jungle. Weda is a carefree woman that is inclined to binge drinking, and uses her son to do the household chores for her. Hare is known to become jealous if any of the other male characters try to win over his mother.
Hare's world is turned upside-down when Weda brings home a cute girl named Guu. The first day they play together, Guu acts like a nice and sweet girl. The next morning, Hare notices a very distinct change in Guu's attitude; however, the adults around them don't notice. It turns out Guu is a luminal being that usually presents herself as a young girl. Not only that, Guu has a world in her stomach that is filled with buildings, hundred legged cats, and even a nice young couple who don't seem at all bothered to be trapped in Guu's stomach.
One day, Hare is eaten by Guu and ends up in her stomach world. Fortunately for him, she ends up spitting him out, and first he believes he was just sleeping and had a dream. However, in Guu's eyes, the young couple sees him and talks to him. Guu is also able to do things that defy the laws of physics, logic, and reality. She also likes to cause chaos, which causes a usually patient Hare to throw tantrums and to rant.
Meanwhile, there is a girl named Mari at the school that Hare and Guu attend. She is friendly toward Hare, and she ends up developing a crush on him. Mari also likes Weda, because she never had a chance to have a mother. Dr. Clive is the doctor at the school, and it turns out he had had a relationship with Weda when she was 14 (which makes Dr. Clive Hare's biological father). Dr. Clive is also highly perverted, and tries everything he can to rekindle his relationship with Weda.
I have to admit that by the time I finished watching the first episode of this series, I felt like I had just experienced someone's drug trip. This anime is definitely not meant for younger viewers. Personally, I would recommend Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu to anime viewers who are 13 years of age or older.
