The oldest bird is Tracy – a Peach Faced Lovebird who hatched on my daughter’s birthday in May of 1993. Next is Lucky, a lutino Cockatiel who is Tracy’s best buddy and who hatched in November of 1994. You can read more about Lucky here and more about Tracy here .

Then there are two more cockatiels – Pearl, a pearled tiel, who hatched January, 1995 and Ringo, a pied, who hatched June, 1995. These two birds are buddies and have attempted unsuccessfully to breed a few times. Now they are just content to be together.

My little Bourkes Parakeet, Jerry hatched in November, 1997. He is a very sweet quiet little bird, who takes every opportunity to fly out the door to the flight whenever I have it open to put in food and water. He doesn’t go anywhere & the room isn’t much bigger than the flight itself, but he just likes to be on the outside.
Another quiet little bird is my Turquosine Parakeet, Mark. The colours on Mark are absolutely beautiful and before my friend brought him & a mate to Winnipeg, I had never seen a Turq before. She didn’t have any luck with them as they were very flighty birds in her home, so Mark & Lisa moved to my home to enjoy life in my flight. Unfortunately, Lisa did not live long & Mark has been here alone for a few years now.

Two beautiful white & pied doves also make their home in my flight. They are both males, but often spend time displaying to each other.

I can’t forget to mention my little Chinese Painted Quail. Originally there were 5 of them, running around the floor of the flight, but one by one over the years, all the hens have died, leaving one male bird. He’s getting pretty old at this time and I’m not sure how much longer he will be with me.

I hope you enjoyed meeting all my little birds.
After many years of pet bird ownership, I have decided to write e-books about the care of some of these wonderful birds.
