I would like to introduce myself, I am Diana Geiger the Birds editor. I am also the Exotic Pets editor. I have said it before and I am saying it again, animals - all animals are my passion. I am also passionate about writing. I am one of the luckiest people on earth to be able to combine these two passions birds/animals and writing. In addition, I feel blessed to write for BellaOnline. Bellaonline is a site for real people and is basically non-profit except, of course, for expenses. Check out the other subjects, you will be thrilled you did!

I grew up with animals including my first bird Blue Boy a budgie (budgerigar or parakeet) who was the light of my life. He knew several "tricks" and could talk - speaking several words and phrases. Was he chosen for these abilities? No, he was chosen by my family because we knew we would love him. It didn´t matter to us if he ever learned to talk or learned a single trick!

You will learn more about Blue Boy as the years go on. What happened to Blue Boy and why I feel the way I do about some controversial subjects concerning birds.

I had several more budgies through the many years. I also had conures, Amazons, macaws and many more birds that escape my memory (great memory just a little short :) This is along with dogs, cats and a huge assortment of exotic pets from ferrets to alligators, domestic skunks and raccoons and many critters in-between.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you,. We have had some great bird editors and I certainly don´t intend on competing with any of them. I have a tremendous amount of respect for each of them. I am me and I have been told I can be unique :)
