Love it or hate it, young or old, most everyone seems to have an opinion about Million Dollar Listing. Bravo’s hit reality real estate show captured viewer’s attention during the first few years, and successfully overcame the real estate market crisis with an even more popular third season. Just recently, the $6.5M home once featured on an episode of Million Dollar Listing reportedly sold close to asking price (down from its original list price of $9.5M). It’s reality television and it’s real business all at the same time.
Million Dollar Listing follows the lives of three young, hip and insanely successful real estate agents in Southern California. They generally represent multi-million dollar estates in upscale neighborhoods such as Hollywood, Malibu and Beverly Hills. Each of the three star agents – Madison, Chad, Josh – all have their own personality and business sense, and with a somewhat different approach to real estate, all are very successful.
The first three seasons of Million Dollar Listing have included four prominent features – (1) young, hot, real estate agents, (2) high-end estate homes in trendy areas of SoCal, (3) Chad’s hair, and (4) Starla. The guys are quirky and confident, but make no mistake, this is big business and they know how to get the job done. Image is everything to these guys as evidenced by perfectly coiffed hair, trendy fashions and very expensive cars.
There have been no official commitments regarding the 4th season of Million Dollar Listing, other than Bravo announcing it had been renewed. That was a no-brainer decision given the show’s large following. Madison has blogged about filming Season 4, and Josh tweeted that he was on the East Coast doing appearances with Madison, so likely they’re both back.
So what about Starla? It seems like Chad Rogers may be one of the holdouts not participating in the new season. Madison has blogged about it, and most references to Million Dollar Listing have been removed from Chad’s website. Despite Chad's obsession over his hair, and his workaholic addiction to real estate, that Starla is a cutie. It’s true, the tiny Chihuahua is a gimmick, but adorable nonetheless. If Chad and Victoria are no longer together, we sure hope they figure out visitation for Starla. Recent photos do show Starla with Chad, so it seems like the little one is still joining Chad on real estate appointments.
Million Dollar Listing really is entertaining, if for nothing else to watch how the rich and famous live. It’s fun to see these young guys negotiate a million-dollar contract, and how they fight to keep from losing a big deal (i.e. $100,000 commission). Remember, these guys really are licensed real estate agents in the state of California.
If you haven’t given Million Dollar Listing a try, you can check out all three seasons on DVD. Likely the new season will premiere in Fall.
