The next block in our State Quilt Block Series is Utah This block is a bit tricky but with patience, it will make a fantastic quilt. There are “curved seams” in this block and I have linked to a good set of instructions to sew curved seams. Perhaps you can take the time to do a practice piece with curved piecing before you commence the Utah block

It may take a little while to download the PDF of the templates, please be patient.

Sewing Instructions:
Step 1: Piece one template B to one template E. Repeat this for the other three BE units.
Step 2: Sew a BE unit to each side of a C template. Repeat this for the other three BE units.
Step 3: Sew one D template to the A template. Repeat this for the other three D templates.
Step 4: Join the DA unit to each edge of the BEC units. Repeat this step for the other three sides.
Congratulations, your block should measure 12-1/2" on all sides. It will measure 12" finished size when it is sewn into a quilt.
