Sabrina, The Teenage Witch Is Magic

Recently my girls have started watching Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. They ran across it while watching Full House.

While I don't allow them to watch it whenever it is on, I do find the show to be for the most part harmless fun. The girls enjoy it and it is a good way to unwind as a family.

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch is based on an Archie Comic Series of the same name.

Sabrina is a young girl who finds out on her 16th birthday that she is half mortal and half witch. The show focuses on her learning how to use her new found abilities as well as dealing with the day to day life of a teenage girl. Sabrina must learn how to balance both parts of her life adding in the fact that she must keep her powers a secret from the rest of the world makes for some funny moments.

Sabrina (played by Melissa Joan Hart) lives in the mortal world with her two aunts, Hilda (played by Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (played by Beth Broderick) who are also witches. Also living in the home is their cat who is a out of work warlock turned into a cat Salem (voiced by Nick Bakay.)

The show takes place in in the fictional town of Westbridge, located near Boston, Massachusetts, where she attends a local high school. In later seasons, Sabrina attends the fictional college of Adams College, and even later on she works as a journalist at a local newspaper.

Due to the amount of special effects used to produce the show, the show was never filmed in front of a live audience.

The first four seasons aired originally on ABC and the last three seasons aired on The WB. The show is now in syndication and can be seen on both ABC Family and The N.
