Hi my name is Asha Sahni and I am the English Culture editor. Welcome to the English Culture site. I'm so glad you decided to visit and I hope you make this site a regular stop on your travels. I was born and brought up in England and have lived in Bristol, Canterbury, Clevedon, London, Reading and Southampton. I studied English Literature at university and appreciate England's substantial literary heritage. England has a rich cultural heritage and is - as William Blake so aptly put it in his poem Jerusalem - a "green and pleasant land".
This site covers all aspects of English culture and life. You will find articles about English writers, music and theatre, English history and historical places, English cities, towns and villages, English food and drink and much, much more. So please come back often to see what is new! I add one new article a week to the site. Please also register on our forum to get involved in discussions about English culture with like-minded people. Feel free to email me if you have any suggesions for topics you would like to see covered on the site.
Since you are on this page you may have an interest in the English Culture site newsletter. Subscribing to the newsletter is a good way for you to know when I have published a new article. In addition to highlighting new articles, the newsletter features lots of other exciting information. The newsletter is delivered once a week; it is a very quick and easy read and will not clog your inbox with unnecessary information.
You will notice a box on the right of the screen that says Free Newsletter with a space underneath for your email address. Don't worry, your email address will not be sold or shared. Please adjust your spam filters to accept email from BellaOnline. You will receive a confirmation email to ensure that your email is letting our messages through. If you do not receive this confirmation email please check your spam folder. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
Once more, welcome to the site and please visit English Culture again.
