About the BellaOnline English Culture Editor

Hi, or should I say Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen? We English are after all polite; and proper address is absolutely correct! Eh What?
I am doing this site because as a true blue English (as true blue as you can get!) Rose, I have the understanding of my wonderful subject to give you all the most polished of truths, quirks, and up to the moment reports on Old Blighty.

All those questions such as; How many wives did Henry VIII ACTUALLY have and what on earth does apples and pears mean in cockney rhyming slang. Not to forget of course the mysterious question who WAS Mrs. Beeton?
On these and other intriguing questions I shall attempt to answer, if I can. In the similar words of Winston Churchill, “I will answer on the beaches, I will find that information, I will never surrender!!”

However gentle reader do not despair that all is frivolity! We Brits do have a stiff upper lip and many serious issues. It is my hope that the deeper issues of English Culture will be honourably answered on this site.
A small bit about myself now (We Brits are SO modest!!) So…I have five WONDERFUL sons and an AMAZING husband. I studied for a Certificate of Higher Education in Social Anthropology; which is the study of people, beliefs and their habits etc, also Social Policy and Cultural Studies. I also have qualifications in English, Politics, Sociology and Psychology. I work as a Teaching Assistant in our local school, which I love.

Most importantly I LOVE England. She is a passion of mine, and I so look forward to sharing that will you. I want to take you down old streets, to hear and see in your minds eye; the sights and sounds of the markets, to imagine the smells. Also to meet the King´s, Queen´s and Great Heroes of Old. The history of what makes England such a colourful and unique country. To show you how England was shaped, how she grew mighty and how she failed. This journey I want to take you on, so you feel the passion with me. And hopefully to feel who England is, so you meet her in your imagination and feel the fire in her vains. She is beautiful, quaint and culturally amazing. And YES, she is a Lady.
