2013 Oscar Nominations Announced

It's the Oscars! Oscar, Oscars! Isn't that how Billy Crystal sings it? This year's Academy Award nominees were announced by Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone. Seth will be hosting the big red carpet event on February 24th.

There were a few audible gasps in the room when it appeared some of the front-runners had been left out of the nominees list, such as Kathryn Bigelow ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Ben Affleck ("Argo"), and Tom Hooper ("Les Miserables"), but there were still plenty of familiar names that got the nod of approval and onto the esteemed list. Here are the nominees (I feel like I should be opening a fancy envelope):

1. Best Picture: "Amour," "Argo," "Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Django Unchained," "Les Miserables," "Life of Pi," "Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Zero Dark Thirty."
