What does prosperity mean to you? Is money the first thing that comes to mind? Do you think about the amount of money that you have in the bank or even all the things that you possess? It is possible to have money, and plenty of it, and not be prosperous.
Let us use our imagination for a minute. Let us look at prosperity as something that begins on the inside of us. If our thoughts were to begin with thankfulness and gratefulness every morning, would they have a direct impact on our day? What if we spend more time trying to figure out how to bless someone else? Would it increase the chances of becoming more prosperous?
The dictionary tells us that the word prosperous is an adjective. It tells us that it is having or characterized by financial success or good fortune. Although this definition sounds good, it is very limiting. Let us use our spiritual minds for just a moment.
The Bible tells us in Genesis 39:2 the following: And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. The Lord was with Joseph. He was prosperous because the Lord was with him. It did not tell us that Joseph was filthy rich or overflowing with money. Joseph was a prosperous man.
Genesis 39:3 goes further and tells us the following: And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Because the Lord was with Joseph the Lord blessed him in all that he did. When the Lord prospered him, he blessed him. Everything that Joseph touch was blessed.
If we take a closer look, we can conclude that Joseph was prosperous because he was blessed. We know that he was blessed because The Lord was with him. When Joseph in his human body could not go any further, the Lord stepped in and touched every situation.
The Bible also tells us to seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. When you come closer to God, he will come closer to you. Seek him. Go after him. He does not have authority to move in your life unless you give him permission. Ask him to come into your life. Accept him as your Lord and Savior. Thank him for saving you from a life of sin and death. If you will allow him to live and dwell in you, you will see your situation change.
Money does no good if you are sick in your body or you are having family problems that allow you to become depressed and hopeless. Turn every situation and hurt over to Him. Allow yourself to be prosperous in all areas of your life, including financially. You can find peace in the mist of every storm if the Lord is with you.
If you have not accepted the Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sins. Come into my heart. I make you my Lord and Savior. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer, you are saved. You can go to God in prayer in any situation.
